COVID-19 Status

Dear Friends of WFCo –

Earlier today, Illinois’ Governor JB Pritzker announced that effective Saturday, March 21 at 5:00pm the entire state would be placed under a “Stay-at-Home” order tentatively lasting through April 7. This announcement was made just one day after a similar message was delivered by California Governor Newsom extending through the same period.

We encourage both our IL and our CA staffs for their health and safety to follow the orders issued by our state officials. We also acknowledge our responsibilities and honor our long-standing commitment as an important manufacturer and distributor to the supply chains recognized as ESSENTIAL by each of the Governors. In actuality, over 60% of our business comes from our role as manufacturer, distributor or service provider of:

Utility Safety and Asset Management Products
  • Electrical Generation, Distribution and Maintenance
  • Telecommunications Network Distribution and Maintenance
  • CATV Network Distribution and Maintenance
  • Water / Oil / Gas Pipeline Maintenance
Essential Manufacturer Safety and Product Identification Components
  • Tier 1 Department of Defense Contractors
  • Essential Equipment Manufacturers
  • Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturers
Healthcare Data Collection SaaS and Marking Products
  • Behavioral Health Hospital Systems
  • Hospital Waste Management Company
  • Hospital Bio-sample Management Company
As of today, we will move forward as detailed in our previous memo dated March 17 focused first on the health and well-being of our staff while maintaining our operations during the growing COVID 19 crisis.

  • Splitting the Essential Operations, Finance and Customer Service Departments into two shifts:
    • Early Shift: 6:00am – 1:45pm (CST)
    • Late Shift: 2:15pm – 10:00pm (CST)
  • Having all sales, marketing and engineering staff work from their respective homes.
  • Additional paid Sick/Screening Days for all employees
  • Work from Home Option: Any WFCo employee with proper connectivity tools and a job that allows work to be completed remotely will be allowed to work from home.

We’re happy to share that our customers and staff have all responded tremendously during the first week of the above new policies/procedures.  I really can’t say enough about our dedicated, professional and very brave team.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this unpredictable and unprecedented crisis. With a lot of planning, a little luck, the hard work and high spirits of our wonderful team we will come through this no worse for wear and ready to do our part helping the country get back on its feet.

Kindest Regards,

Jeffrey Brandt, President Evie Bennett, Vice President

Dear Friends of WFCo –

In an effort to maintain the health and well-being of our staff and also to better organize our operations during the increasingly disruptive measures being taken by our Country/Government to control the COVID 19 outbreak, William Frick and Company has made the following changes that will remain in effect until further notice.

  1. Splitting the Operations, Finance and Customer Service Departments into two shifts. Halving the in-office office staff by roles will allow us to manage the workload while limiting the number of people working at the same time.  We thought this would reduce the potential for exposure and/or the number of people unable to work if exposed to the virus.
    1. Early Shift: 6:00am – 1:45pm (CST)
    2. Late Shift: 2:15pm – 10:00pm (CST)
  2. All sales, marketing and engineering staff are working from their respective homes. They are each accessible via their e-mail and mobile phones.  They can also arrange GoToMeetings as needed.
  3. Paid Screening Day: WFCO will allow employees to make a visit with full pay to their doctor or screening center to check for the virus.  This may cause unexpected staff absences, but we’d rather err on the side of caution for the health and well-being of our colleagues.
  4. Work from Home Option: Any WFCo employee with proper connectivity tools and a job that allows work to be completed remotely will be allowed to work from home.

We are aware that the above changes will affect the usual response times and access to our people.  With practice, the ‘work handoff’ between shifts will become more fluid.  We also will use GoToMeeting and conduct regular department and cross-functional virtual meetings to ensure important business is properly handled.  The above notwithstanding, please reach out directly to one of the following managers if needed.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this unpredictable and unprecedented (in my time, anyhow) string of events.  With a lot of planning, a little luck, the hard work and high spirits of our wonderful team, we will come through this no worse for wear and ready to resume our work.

Kindest Regards,

Jeff Brandt, President
