Digital Room Operator

Compensation: Hourly, No Benefits
Position Type: Part-time

Operator must be well organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines. The position includes running several output devices including solvent printers, plotters and laminators. Previous experience in a commercial sign or pressroom is preferred. Experience in proofing, preflighting, prepress and familiar with image compression, file/color correction and optimization techniques a plus.

Minimum skills/competencies/credentials/attributes to be considered:
• Associate Degree in accredited Graphic Design or related program, or
• 2+ Years working in Digital or Machine Operation Environment, or
• 3-5 Years in a Graphic Design, Sign-shop or In-house Marketing Department
• Excellent typesetting, verbal, math and communication skills
• Ability to work well both independently and with a team.

This is not a Design position. Primary responsibilities include operation of wide-format printers, cut plotters and hot-foil roll machines. Creation of print ready color separated files, manufacturing and inspection. Candidates who have experience with Press operation, Mimaki and HP wide-format printers and Onyx or RasterLink RIP will receive top priority.

Sr. Product Engineers

Compensation: Salary
Position Type: Full-time

Job Description:
• Sr. Product Engineers for Libertyville, IL location. • Monitor projects for mechanical engineering/manufacturing processes, including timelines and budget.
• Lead design and testing of large scale new molding products incorporating RFID technologies such as UHF antennas, HF and LF radio-frequencies, from concept to deliverables.
• Assign project tasks to departments.
• Represent company to, and qualify suppliers and outsourcing partners, lead customer resource teams.
• Develop training matrices for project-related implementation.
• Using knowledge of pressure sensitive adhesives, synthetic films and plastics, lead new project design using human computer and interface design techniques, machining.
• Application of web-based printing processes and sheet-fed based printing processes to ensure development of marketable final products.
• Lead design and production of prototypes on 3D printer.
• Tools/technologies: AutoCAD, QUV testing, RFID, Windows Operating Mobile Platform.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Packaging Engineering plus two years of experience in the job offered or with engineering product development required.
• Must have previous manufacturing processes experience with: pressure sensitive adhesives, synthetic films (polyester, polycarbonate, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride), plastics (injection-, blow-, rotational-, compression-, insert/over- molding) and extrusion; application of web-and screen-based printing processes (screen print, flexographic, thermal transfer, digital UV); designing, testing new products incorporating RFID (UHF antennas, HF and LF radio frequencies) from concept to deliverables; QUV testing; human computer and interface design; designing and producing prototypes on 3D printer.

Candidates should be able to accurately implement quick revisions to match a client, Director or other team member's request in Adobe CS6 Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. Artist must be well organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines. The position includes running several output devices including solvent printers, plotters and laminators. Previous experience in a commercial sign or pressroom is preferred. Experience proofing, preflighting, prepress and familiar with image compression, file/color correction and optimization techniques.
