Print Shop Operator
Position reports to: Print Shop Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly, Benefits upon permanent hire
Position Type: Temp to Permanent, Full-time

Candidates should be able to set up and operate printing and finishing equipment used to manufacture printed products in accordance to customer specifications.

Minimum skills/competencies/credentials/attributes to be considered:
• HS Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2-3 years of operating machinery
• Experience with Microsoft Office Excel
• Zero defect on all print orders
• On-time execution of print orders

Additional skills and training to be considered:
• Experience with vertical die-cutting, laminating, barcoding, and RFID a plus
• Previous hot-stamp, foil printing or other shop experience a plus
• Previous training on wide-format, manual, and/or automatic presses is a plus
• Previous training on thermal transfer, and/or laser etched label products is a plus
• Previous training on RFID printing and encoding is a plus

Primary responsibilities include:
• This position would be responsible for maintaining and operating the printing presses with maximum efficiency and minimum waste
• Reviews print orders (Job Travelers) for accuracy and conformance with established policy, procedure and printing capabilities
• Sets up printing and in line finishing equipment as needed
• Prepares and loads substrate into feeding mechanisms
• Monitors machine operations and quality during printing
• Sets up post finishing functions as required
• Undertakes maintenance, repair and cleaning of machines
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Keeps required production records
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Able to lift 70 lbs
• Able to stand or walk for up to 4 hours at a time on concrete surface
• Able to work in an shop environment where oil / grease / or chemicals are used

Jr Production Artist

Compensation: Hourly, No Benefits
Position Type: Part-time

Candidates should be able to accurately implement quick revisions to match a client, Director or other team member's request in Adobe CS6 Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. Artist must be well organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines. The position includes running several output devices including solvent printers, plotters and laminators. Previous experience in a commercial sign or pressroom is preferred. Experience proofing, preflighting, prepress and familiar with image compression, file/color correction and optimization techniques.

Minimum skills/competencies/credentials/attributes to be considered:
• Associate Degree in accredited Graphic Design or related program, or
• 2+ Years working in Digital production Environment, or
• 3-5 Years in a Graphic Design, Sign-shop or In-house Marketing Department
• Excellent typesetting, verbal, math and communication skills
• Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
• Candidates may be asked to take a skills assessment test
• Portfolio to reflect experience

This is not a Design position. Primary responsibilities include operation of wide-format printers, cut plotters and hot-foil roll machines. Creation of print ready color separated files, manufacturing and inspection. Candidates who have experience with Mimaki and HP wide-format printers and Onyx or RasterLink RIP will receive top priority. This is a Temp -- Perm opportunity.
