Here are some excerpts from their award:

Key Performance Drivers for William Frick & Company

Factor 1: Complete Product Portfolio

FRICK has successfully positioned itself as one having the maximum variety of tags catering to every kind of environment. The company’s product portfolio includes from the simplest of compliance tags to the complex tagging systems that is used even on the ocean floor. Based on customer feedback, the product portfolio scores on optimality, effectiveness and is a proven winner in harsh environments, especially extreme temperatures up to 600 F. Several RFID tags lose accuracy when exposed to extreme climatic pressures, a phenomenon effectively solved by FRICK.

Factor 2: High Levels of Customization

FRICK's CEO Bill Frick famous quote “one would never find a FRICK catalog” underlines the company’s policy to offer customized solution, rather than catalog products that are closest to the customer requirements. FRICK facilitates prototyping, which enables design and testing before implementation. External features and designs are adapted to fit the customer’s applications and environment, irrespective of complexity. In addition, FRICK guides the customer through various levels of implementation to ensure optimum results.

Factor 3: Strategic Collaborations

Although FRICK takes pride in being a wholly self-funded organization, with no interference from external investors, it has indulged in strategic partnerships, which have been highly profitable. FRICK has forged effective partnerships with multiple RFID systems integrators to provide turnkey hardware and software solutions to its customers. In an industry, where end users are increasingly looking for one stop solution providers, the move has been a success. The recent partnership with TROI has a two-fold benefit. Firstly, the partnership augurs perfectly with FRICK’s existing rugged product portfolio, and proven experience in harsh environment tagging. Secondly, it enhanced its channel positioning, thereby becoming the exclusive distributor of TROI’s product line in North America. "Frick's business partnerships are at the center of our strategic plans.  We feel that a collaboration of specialists produces a more thorough customer solution than any one 'jack of all trades' company can provide - particularly when something as complex as an RFID installation is at hand," says Jeff Brandt, president of  William Frick & Co.

Factor 4: Focused Channel Strategy

FRICK has a multiple channel strategy, direct sales as well as through other channel partners. Over time, a majority of the distribution is being done by itself, as it enables the company to relate to its customers much better. Its customers also seem to prefer that, as they can interact more minutely about product specifications and prototyping. This has helped FRICK forge significant customer relationships and greater brand loyalty.  According to Evie Bennett,  Vice President of Sales & Marketing " Whether it is a Frick direct sales person, or a channel partner connecting with our customers, commitment to a shared vision of a successful customer experience is critical.  Listening to our customers describe their unique, specific product performance needs is the first step towards an effective collaboration in the RFID tag development process."
