Anti-Corrosive Labels, Tags and Markers

Corrosion costs the world economy billions of dollars every year. If your company operates machinery or manufactures products using metals in moist or harsh environments, you know how expensive corrosion control can be. Corrosion is most prominent in ferrous metals such as iron and carbon steel, but it also occurs in other materials. The electrochemical process that causes corrosion begins any time metal is exposed to air and moisture. In iron and steel, iron atoms combine with oxygen atoms to form rust on the surface of the material. Rust can lead to pitting, cracking and eventual failure of parts and equipment. Corrosion can be inhibited or prevented several ways. Cathodic protection uses electrochemical reactions to protect one metal while sacrificing another. Anti corrosive paints and anti-rust coating materials can also inhibit corrosion. Choosing anti-corrosive materials for use in potentially corrosive environments avoids the ongoing maintenance expense for corrosion prevention. Some factors in addition to moisture and oxygen can accelerate corrosion. Among these are high temperatures and salt, which happen to be prevalent in many industrial and commercial environments. Heavy equipment used in construction and transportation are constantly exposed to road salt, high temperatures and other harsh conditions. William Frick & Company supplies many products for industrial and commercial use that are manufactured from anti-corrosive materials or that are treated with anti-corrosion coatings. Our RB02 anti-corrosive metal mount RFID tag is made with a ceramic anti-corrosive casing and high strength adhesive backing. It is ideal for identification of containers carrying corrosive materials or for tracking materials and equipment used in harsh environments. Our EG02 high temperature metal mount RFID tag can be embedded into metals, has strong corrosion resistance and will operate at temperatures up to 446 degrees F. Call our customer service representatives for more information about using our anti-corrosive tags and labels for your company’s applications.
